Taking care of spiderlings

Keep them the same way as you would an adult of the same species. Temperature should be 78-84 degrees. I keep my spiderlings in properly sized containers with moist substrate and plastic leaves and branches for hiding and webbing. Put the air holes in the sides of the container because it keeps the heat and humidity in better. Spiderlings should be kept warm at all times ,usually in the mid 80 degree range. Condensation should be present so the baby spider does not become dehydrated. Keep them in a dimly lit area because they donít like bright lights. A heated cabinet or a micro-climate works very well for maintaining heat and humidity. Feed your spiderlings crickets or roaches that will be easily overpowered . If the spider refuses to eat ,remove the food item within an hour. Do not leave crickets in the cage overnight as they can chew on the spider and possibly injure or kill it. Keep track of the molt and feeding dates to help you monitor progress.Put the air holes in the sides, not the top as this will help create condensation inside the enclosure..
