EGG INCUBATION CHAMBER-how to set up
EGG INCUBATION CHAMBER-how to set up: Start off with a regular chicken or reptile egg incubator that has a temperature regulator and a fan in it. Set the temperature at 81 degrees. Allow it to operate for 3 days prior to putting anything inside. This will give you time to regulate it. Then, put one or two 1/2inch holes in the side of a 6 or 8 quart plastic sterilyte shoebox style container use wire mesh to cover the holes( hot glue works best). Next, take about a 12 oz. zip-lock or glad food storage container and cut out the inside of the lid, leaving the rim entact. Stretch some soft material and attach it to the rim with hot glue. Put wet virmiculite or lots of wet paper towels inside the shoebox and then put the storage container inside. Fill the storage container about 1/2 way with water. Open agg sack and put the eggs or 1st instar babies on top of the soft cloth. Put the storage container inside the shoebox container. Put the lid on the shoebox container. Next, put the whole thing inside the chicken incubator. Mark your calendar so you can estimate what date the eggs will morph into babies.
